MADISON (AP) -- ANewport News man is charged with killing three people in a central Virginia home on Saturday.
Rashad Riddick, 23, was arrested in Newport News. Police say he had the victims' truck which was found at the Econo Lodge, Va. State Police told WVEC.com.
He faces three counts of capital murder, according to Newsplex 16 in Charlottesville. He is expected to be transported back to Madison County.
James Clark Jackson, 55; his wife Karen Lee Jackson, 53; and her daughter Chantel Latrice Davis, 26, died from trauma to their upper bodies.
Deputies were first called to the home on Forest Road about 90 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., on Saturday morning when the man was found in his yard. The other two were found inside the home.
The 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck had been taken from the home.
Anthony told the television station that he had come to the scene to console family members.
'This is a terrible tragedy,' he said. 'A husband and wife and one of the children have left us, and we don't have all of the pieces to the puzzle.'
Authorities haven't stated any connection between Riddick and the victims.
Six years ago in Newport News, Riddick was arrested for attempted carjacking and assualting a police officer.
