VIRGINIA BEACH - Around the world, people celebrated the new year.

For the Terry family, January 1, 2013 was particularly wonderful because they welcomed a new baby. Annabella Elena Terry arrived at 12:21 a.m., weighing in at seven pounds, seven ounces. She was the first baby of the new year born in Hampton Roads.

Labor started on the afternoon of December 31, 2012 and ended many hours later. Mrs. Terry admitted she wasn't always kind to her husband during the process.

'(I was) telling him how much I hated him because it hurt so much,' she said.

That became a memory when she got to hold her daughter in her arms.

Big sister Lillianna, who is 19 months old, was happy, too, and couldn't wait to give her little sister a hug.

The Terrys had been high school sweethearts at Kellam.

By afternoon Tuesday, four babies had been born at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital.
