NORFOLK -- A former City of Norfolk employee has pleaded guilty to fraud involving a bribery scheme involving a plumbing company.

56-year-old Patrick R. Lambert faces up to 10 years in prison when he's sentenced on August 16.

Lambert resigned from his job as a facilities maintenance supervisor in April. He had accepted about $17,000 worth of plumbing from A.T. Zoby Mechanical Inc., according to court documents, and then Zoby would then recover those costs by sending fake invoices to the city.

Andrew Zoby Jr., the company owner, and a retired plumber, Michael Brown, have already plead guilty to a bribery charge. Zoby will be sentenced on July 10, according to federal prosecutors.
