VIRGINIA BEACH -- The woman accused of driving under the influence when she struck a family waiting for a school bus pled guilty to numerous charges on Tuesday. in Virginia Beach Circuit Court.
Sandra Hofstadler pled guilty to 2 counts of DUI Reckless Driving, 2nd conviction DUI within 5-10 years, and failure to stop for a school bus. The gulty pleas could bring a sentence of up to 12 years in prison.
Hofstadler had already pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges of DUI (second offense) and reckless driving.
Hofstadler, 43, allegedly went around a stopped school bus on Chester Street, lost control, went over the curb and into a yard, striking a father and his three children in January.
The three children attend Lynnhaven Elementary School.
