VIRGINIA BEACH -- 2 kayakers ended up in the water off Rudee Inlet Saturday. 1 of them went to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

The United States Coast Guard said a charter boat named The Lost Pearl collided with a kayak at about 6:00 p.m.

One witness told 13News Now, 'The kayak was entering over there by the inlet and there was a boat. They were screaming at the people in the boat trying to get them to notice them.'

The 65-foot boat is a replica of a Spanish galleon. It is operated by Captain Jack's Pirate Ship Adventures.

13News Now reached out to the company, but it declined comment.

Chief Ed Brazle with Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services told 13News Now the second kayaker who ended up in the water, a woman, was not hurt.
