SUFFOLK -- The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and two children who were displaced because of a house fire Wednesday.

Crews found heavy smoke coming from the attic of the home in the 400 block of Elizabeth Street in Suffolk around 9:30 a.m.

No one was inside the home at the time the fire, officials said.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

The Suffolk Police Department also responded and the roadway was briefly closed but has reopened.

The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
