HAMPTON -- Newport News, Virginia Beach and Norfolk already have cameras installed at select intersections to catch red light runners. Now, Hampton is considering the measure.
In a briefing Wednesday, Hampton city leaders will find out what it takes to get the cameras installed and hear recommendations from police on enforcement.
If after the briefing, City Council wants to give further consideration to red light camera enforcement, staff will proceed with the required traffic studies and the results and final recommendations will be presented at a future City Council meeting.
The briefing is scheduled for tomorrow's city council meeting at 1 p.m.
