VIRGINIA BEACH -- Nearly 150 military wives who are either pregnant or new moms flooded into Operation Homefront's 'star-spangled babies' baby shower at the Holiday Inn in Virginia Beach Tuesday.

'These moms don't know it yet, but they will receive a basket with all of the essentials and car seat as well,' said program manager Nicole Nickell.

The event is one of Operation Homefront's most popular meet ups for women to network.

The group connects women with certified lactation consultants, financial planners and other local resources.
