SUFFOLK Fake $20 bills are being passed in Suffolk.

Police say the suspect used the counterfeit money at a 7-11 convenience store on Holland Road. On December 23rd, just after 2:00 p.m., the man bought a $300 money order and paid with fake 20's.

Surveillance video shows the suspect, and from analyzing his moves, detectives think he's done this before. He casually talked to other customers in the line and was seen smiling. All those are signs that he's not an amateur, police say.

'I would say that he probably done this before because he seemed to be very quite comfortable from looking at the video and what he was doing,' said detective John Jones. 'It is rare for someone to pass five to ten counterfeit bills at any given time, because its more noticeable when they do that.'

The video shows the man shuffling the money through his hands. Authorities say he could have done that to distract the cashier.

If you recognize the man in the video, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
