HAMPTON A mother has just been sentenced to seven years in the death of her 11-month old daughter.

Natalynn Hamrick died in January. The preliminary investigation revealed an incident occurred in a parking lot of a business in the 2000 block of Cunningham Drive earlier that day. The baby was unconscious at the home on Canavan drive, later that evening.

'The child was assaulted by being shaken,' Cpl. Jason Price said. Court documents show the baby's mother admitted to shaking her as she tried to put her in her car seat.

23-year old Carliece Hamrick was charged with one count of murder and one count of felony child abuse.

On Friday, Leslie Siman-tov with the Commonwealth attorney's office said Hamrick was sentenced to 25 years with 18 of that suspended for the murder charge and ten years for the child abuse charge; however, all ten were suspended.
