NEWPORT NEWS- Newport News Police say a man was wounded when a bullet went into his home Monday night.

The shooting happened around 8:41 p.m. in the 600 block of 12th Street.

Rounds that were fired outside the house struck the 43-year old in the torso and arm. Two girls, ages13 and 7, and a 2 year old boy, were in the home at the time but they weren't hurt, police stated.

The man was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

Investigators don't know if the home was targeted or if it was struck at random.
