YORK COUNTY --Harry Mitchell of Verizon says that service has been restored to customers who were affected by an outage Thursday.

About several hundred Verizon customers were without hard line phone service Thursday because of fiber lines being cut.

The outage occurred when a road construction crew in the 4800 block of George Washington Highway struck the lines in the early afternoon.

According to Verizon spokesperson, Harry Mitchell, crews were going to work orvernight to restore the residential service. They were hoping to have customers on-line by 2 a.m.

Mitchell added that if there are any customers still having issues, they can call 1-800-VERIZON to work it out.
