SUFFOLK-- An arrest has been made following an early morning fire that destroyed a home in Suffolk Monday.

Police have arrested 33-year-old Thomas Joseph Anctil, who was living in the home on Copeland Road, and charged him with arson.

Two dogs died in the house fire.

City spokesman Tim Kelly said it took about 45 minutes to get the fire under control and one firefighter was treated on the scene for heat exhaustion.

Anctil is being held without bond in the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
