VIRGINIA BEACH -- A Pizza Hut employee has been arrested after he allegedly stole cash, locked his coworker in a freezer and then stole her car last week.

Police say 21-year-old Roberto Jose Marrero approached a fellow employee with a 'cutting instrument' at Pizza Hut on Indian River Road last Sunday and demanded her keys and phone.

Police say Marrero locked the victim in the freezer before stealing money from the business and fleeing in the woman's vehicle.

The victim was able to escape the freezer and contact police.

Police arrested the suspect after he was seen driving the stolen vehicle.

Marrero is charged with two counts of robbery, abduction and carjacking.

Marrero is currently being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
