NEWPORT NEWS, VA -- Three men were shot at at a party in what's described by police as a rooming house in the east end of Newport News.

According to police, they responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of 29th Street at around 6:00 a.m. this morning. Arriving officers found three adult males on the first floor of the home suffering from gunshot wounds.

A spokesperson said that there was a party going on within the building. At some point, an argument broke out and some of the individuals left, but then returned. One of them produced a gun and fired several shots, with three people being struck. The shooter then fled.

All three shooting victims were transported to a local area hospital. Two of the men's wounds are non-life threatening wounds, but the third man's wounds are considered possibly life threatening.

Police say they are continuing to question witnesses, but there is no current suspect information.
