PORTSMOUTH -- Crews responded to a fire at a Portsmouth nightclub Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the blaze started in the kitchen at Majik City around 3:45. The fire was knocked down in 15 minutes.

Portsmouth Boulevard was temporarily closed between McLean Street and Turnpike Road.

There was no major damage to the building.

Nobody was injured but the club will not be opening Thursday night.

Foul-play is not suspected.

The fire remains under investigation.
