CHESAPEAKE -- There's a snake on the loose in one Chesapeake neighborhood, but authorities don't believe it's a threat.

Authorities received several calls May 12 and 13 from people in the 1600 block of Walnut Avenue.

First, officers believed the name was a pet that got outside, but now they believe that's not the case.

It's not posing a threat to residents and efforts to capture it will continue this week.

The only description of the snake is that it's blue and green in color. Police did not say what kind of snake they believe it might be.
