NEWPORT NEWS -- A construction worker who died after an accident near the Newport News City Center has been identified.
He was Terrence Croker, 40, of the 100 block of Tyler Avenue in Newport News.
Police spokesperson Lou Thurston says the 40-year-old man may have fallen four stories. Authorities say he somehow lost his footing and fell to the ground.
It happened shortly before 3:00 Tuesday afternoon at an apartment complex near Canon Boulevard and Lakefront Commons.
He was rushed to the hospital but later died.
The accident is being investigated by the Newport News homicide unit and the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry.
