VIRGINIA BEACH - The election's over, but frustration lingers over long lines at some precincts in Va. Beach.

Registrar Donna Patterson will give a presentation to City Council at 3:00 p.m. about what happened on November 6.

'We talk about being the best run city in the world, except on the day it really counts,' Councilman Jim Wood remarked.

Wood says the budget Patterson submitted didn't include a request for more workers.

Councilman Glenn Davis is concerned, too.

'We need to look at where we had the bottlenecks. We need to be prepared for elections. It will be great to hear from the registrar herself,' Davis said.

Most of the problem occurred at the check-in point, Wood acknowledged. However, he questions why the lines were so long when turnout was lower than in the 2008 presidential election.

'If that's the case, then explain to me what the problem is. If it is more money, then tell us I need more money,' he stated.

Virginia Beach was one of several localities reporting hours-long delays. Some people said they were so discouraged they left without voting.
