VIRGINIA BEACH - Have questions about how the Affordable Care Act will affect Medicare?
On November 16, you can get some of your questions answered by the Medicare Health Fair and Expo, put on the by Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia. It's from 8:00 a.m .to 3:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on 19th Street.
The event is designed to help clear any confusion about federally mandated changes to Medicare that may affect some people's benefits, as well as provide information about the new Affordable Care Act and many other issues related to health care, home care and retirement housing options, and successful aging.
Morning session: 'The Future of Health Care in America' with keynote panelists Rep. Scott Rigell (R-1st D) and Joanne Corte Grossi, Region III Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Luncheon session: The 'Affordable Care Act and the Future of Health Care in Virginia,' with panel members, Dr. William Hazel, Virginia's Secretary of Health and Human Resources; and James Rothrock, Commissioner of the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services.
