NEWPORT NEWS -- One person is being treated at the hospital following a two-car collision in Newport News Monday night.
Police spokesman Harold Eley says a 53-year-old woman was driving a Dodge Caravan on Warwick Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. when she came from the far-right lane and attempted to turn left at 64th Street.
Eley says the woman hit a Volvo, causing it to crash into a home. The Caravan hit a utility pole.
The driver went to the hospital to be treated. Her passengers, a man and an 8-year-old boy, were treated at the scene.
Two women and a baby were in the Volvo.
Paramedics checked them at the scene, according to Eley.
Nobody was inside the home at the time of the accident. Eley says the home is being renovated.
A charge of reckless driving is pending against the driver of the Caravan, Eley said.
