NORFOLK -- A car slammed into a sign outside of Eastern Virginia Medical Center Wednesday night.
Car slams into sign outside medical center in Norfolk
The incident happenened near the intersection of Brambleton and Colley Avenue around 6 p.m.
The vehicle, which was being driven by an adult male, hit the curb and went airborne after crossing several lanes of traffic before hitting a tree and the sign, according to Daniel Hudson with the Norfolk Police Department.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated. Nobody else was injured.
Police say alcohol may have been a factor. An investigation is now underway.
