GLOUCESTER-- A man dies after being hit by a truck while waiting for someone to pick him up outside of his home.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, 26-year-old Michael Anthony Franklin was standing outside of his home waiting for a ride when he stepped out in front of a 1998 Dodge Dakota that was heading down Glenns Road.

When police arrived at the 4800 block of Glenns Road they found Franklin suffering from life threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police identified the driver of the car as 19-year-old Joseph Pasquale Imperiale from the 6000 block of Cypress Trail in Gloucester.

There are no charges pending at this time.
