ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- A man arrested by Elizabeth City police got free, used an officer's stun gun against him and is on the run.

Authorities are looking for Dinari Donkeith Lindsey.

They say he was at the Magistrate's Office on May 11 when Officer Timothy Bateman tried to readjust the handcuffs. Lindsey broke free and ran, but Officer Bateman caught up with him and used a stun gun when Lindsay tried to assault him, even biting him, said Captain John D. Young.

During the struggle, Lindsey was able to get the stun gun and use it on the officer's forehead. and ran to a car that had been left running, Young stated.

The car was found abandoned, with the officer's taser inside, a short time later.

Lindsey, 26, is wanted on the following charges: Common Law Robbery, Larceny from the Person, Possession of Stolen Goods, Escape from Custody, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle Assault on a Government Official and resisting a Public Officer.
