NORFOLK---Starting Monday, police can pull you over for texting while driving, as it becomes a primary law in Virginia on July 1.

The fine will be $125 for the first citation.

There are some concerns with enforcement, because drivers will still be able to use their GPS and even dial a number on their smart phone.

Drivers are not required to hand over their phones after being pulled over, but a spokesperson with Norfolk Police says they do plan on writing tickets and leaving it in the hands of a judge.
