CHESAPEAKE-A man was shot when three men forced their way into his Chesapeake home early Friday.

Police say the home invaders barged through the back door of the Collingwood Avenue home where a man, woman and four-year-old child were staying.

They made demands and shot the man when they didn't get what they wanted, said police spokeswoman MPO Kelly O'Sullivan.

The woman and children weren't hurt; the man was taken to the hospital for treatment of gunshots to his arm and chest and should recover, O'Sullivan added.

The only description of the suspects is that they're black men, 25-35 years old who wore masks and dark clothing.
