Curt Brown loves the teaching part of being a head coach. He had a pretty good mentor himself in the former longtime Granby football coach Dave Hudak.

Brown was an assistant for the last 4 years under Hudak, before taking over as the boss this year. The Comets are off to an 0-3 start, but Brown is hopeful he can get his team turned around.

Brown knows he has the kind of kids who can make it happen.

We asked him what he looks for in a player and he told us "a good student one who pays attention in practice to learn and understand the game. Plus, someone who is not going to be a me, me, me person but a team player."

He sounds like a players coach to us. He said he has an open door policy and is all about teaching life skills as well as how to win on the football field.
