VIRGINIA BEACH--A Norfolk man was sentenced Monday for robbing two teens, and pistol whipping one of them, at Lynnhaven Mall last summer.
Kane Anthony Fosnaught,19, was sentenced to to serve 15 years in prison by Circuit Court Judge Edward W. Hanson Jr. for malicious wounding, robbery, attempted robbery, three counts of use of a firearm, and conspiracy.
According to the Commonwealth's Attorney, Fosnaught and Garshamii Cox followed two victims out of Lynnhaven Mall on Aug. 31, 2012 and demanded their property at gunpoint. The juvenile victim pulled out his own handgun and began to struggle with Fosnaught.
Fosnaught struck the juvenile the face with the gun, giving him a laceration and concussion, officials said. The suspects then fled with the victim's gun and money.
Fosnaught was arrested in a store bathroom in the mall and had the victim's gun in his pocket.
Cox was later identified and confessed to his involvement in the robbery.
Cox pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve 9 years in prison.
