ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -- One-stop early voting for the May primary election in North Carolina ends Saturday.

Counties have designated a combined 289 sites, including 77 additional sites compared to the 2010 primary.

'Our counties have worked hard to offer voters the opportunity to participate in the early voting process,' said Executive Director of the State Board of Elections Kim Westbrook Strach.

Election officials will ask voters whether they have an acceptable form of photo identification, though voters will not be required to present one until January 2016.
