KILL DEVIL HILLS -- Several people were injured in a crash involving a Kill Devil Hills town vehicle Friday.
Police say a 43-year-old Kill Devil Hill's employee was injured when a 59-year-old man driving a Honda Civic turned in front him on US 158.
The pickup struck the Honda, sending it off the roadway and into a small grove of trees about 30 feet from the shoulder of the road.
Emergency crews had to cut away the roof of the Honda in order to reach the passenger and safely extricate her. The right front passenger of the Honda was flown out by Dare MedFlight to Sentara Norfolk General due to the critical nature of her injuries.
The other occupants of the Honda and the Kill Devil Hills employee were transported by ambulance to Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head for treatment.
Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the collision.
