Consumer Minute: New travel requirements & unlimited appetizers
Financial markets are charting new territory this morning.That's because the Dow is opening above 17,000 for the first time. That's an increase of three percent this year and many investors believe this bull market still has some room to run.
Here's a heads up if you are traveling overseas. Travelers boarding flights for the U.S. may be asked to turn on their electronic devices to show that they really are what they say. Devices that are out of battery power won't be allowed on the flights.
The rugged Jeep Wrangler is getting a makeover of sorts. Chrysler wants to improve the tough SUV's gas mileage in the 2017 model. Jeep is considering a lighter body as well as more transmission gears or even a smaller engine. The current Wrangler gets 17 miles per gallon in the city and 21 miles per gallon on the highway.
TGI Fridays is trying to appeal to really hungry customers with the launch of its new summer promotion - endless appetizers. Here's how it works: Diners pay $10 (per person) then choose an appetizer and receive unlimited refills. The promotion runs through Aug. 24.
