VIRGINIA BEACH -- Beach police were searching Friday morning for a suspect in a 4th of July attempted robbery.

Police say that around 9:29 p.m. a suspect, captured on surveillance, entered the Sunoco Gas Station at 4492 Shore Dr., demanded money from the clerk, while threatening bodily harm.

After the clerk refused to turn over any money, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

He was last seen walking towards Greenville Rd.

Police say no weapons were seen and there were no injuries.
