VIRGINIA BEACH---City officials are moving forward with plans to get rid of the feeder roads on Laskin Road in Virginia Beach.

The $93 million project would widen Laskin Road from Republic Road to Birdneck Road.

VDOT has completed the project design and have begun relocating water and power lines nearby for construction.

Many drivers say the roads are confusing and unsafe, but some say making the changes is a waste of tax-payer dollars.

'More confusion and more construction,' said driver Alan Ots. 'It will actually increase traffic problems.'

Bids for construction could go out by next spring.
