While interstates and major thoroughfares have largely been cleared of snow, most residential and side streets are still covered in several inches of snow and ice.

Most schools in Hampton Roads have canceled classes again for Friday, including Virginia Beach, Portmouth, Suffolk, Norfolk and Chesapeake.

The Navy is also telling only mission-essential personnel to report to work at its south Hampton Roads bases.
