Consumer Minute: Apple's free fix & good news for travelers
Looks like more Americans will be traveling for the Labor Day holiday weekend. An airline industry trade group estimates 14 million folks will be flying for the holiday. That's a 2% increase from last year. In order to deal with the higher demand, carriers are expected to increase the number of available seats.
There's also good news if you're planning to travel by car for the holiday. The average price of gas has dropped four cents a gallon in the past two weeks. According to the Lundberg survey, the national average for gas right now is $3.48. That's eight cents less than it was a year ago.
If you've got a defective iPhone battery, Apple is replacing them for free. If you purchased your device between September 2012 and January 2013, you may qualify. Check the company's website
for serial numbers of the devices that are affected.
So what do you think about a slice of pretzel pizza? Little Caesar's is hoping you'll like it. The company is introducing the soft pretzel crust pepperoni pizza for a limited run. We're told if it catches on it could become a menu mainstay.
