CHESAPEAKE - The stars were out Thursday night for a very special ceremony to honor Chesapeake school teachers.

The highest honor was saved for the end of the program, the coveted Teacher of the Year.

Greenbrier Primary School teacher Allison Clark was caught off guard when she found out she'd won.

'I think I'm in complete shock. I don't know what to think,' she said.

Clark teaches kindergarten and first graders with disabilities.

'Typically, they're kids that have autism or sensory issues and other disabilities. I just feel it's my job to make them productive members so they can go out and be independent and continue their lives,' Clark said.

She also won an SUV for a year, courtesy of the Priority Auto Group.
