VIRGINIA BEACH-- Virginia Beach police have made an arrest following a stabbing incident that took place shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Gordon Walk, off of N. Birdneck Rd. and found 31-year-old Arthur Kelvin Waller suffering from stab wounds that were non-life threatening.

Police say Waller was trying to prevent his girlfriend from leaving the home and allegedly placed her in a strangulation hold and assaulted her.

According to police, the victim managed to leave the home and suffered minor injuries.

Waller is charged with domestic assault and strangulation and is currently being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

The case remains under investigation. At this time, the woman involved in the incident has not been charged.
