EDENTON, N.C. (AP) -- A 49-year-old Edenton man has drowned in Edenton Bay.

Edenton police say David Hassell drowned Monday morning after he entered the water to retrieve a remote controlled model boat.

Hassell disappeared and police found him about 90 minutes later. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His death has been ruled an accidental drowning.
