VIRGINIA BEACH--An armored car went off the road and overturned Monday morning.

The accident forced police to close the westbound lanes in the 1300 block of Laskin Road just before noon.

Police say the driver swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle that pulled in front of him from the feeder road.

Police say the driver was able to crawl out of the vehicle despite it being upside down.

The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and the passenger was treated at the scene.

A wrecker was at the scene to get the vehicle right side up and then tow it away.

All lanes reopened around 1:45 p.m.

No charges will be filed against the driver of the armored truck, police said Monday afternoon.
