NEWPORT NEWS- Police released a composite Tuesday of a man they say hit and run a woman jogger.

The incident happend around 9:30 a.m Saturday.

A 35 year old Newport News woman was jogging in the area of Riverside Drive, near Museum Drive, when she noticed an unknown man slowly driving past her then suspiciously turn around and pass her again. The man was staring at her.

After passing her the second time the man made a U-turn driving back in her direction and while maintaining eye contact accelerated his vehicle and veered into her path.

The victim attempted to run to the left to avoid being hit but was struck by the right front bumper and hood of the vehicle, throwing her into the air.

The driver then backed up and drove off.

The victim suffered scrapes to her right hip and knee area. She began screaming for help and another jogger dialed 911.

The man is described as a white male in his 40's or 50's with a full salt and pepper beard, driving a tan or gold colored Honda or Toyota sedan.
