COLINGTON HARBOUR -- Residents of the Outer Banks neighborhood of Colington Harbour say sound-side flooding is their main concern Sunday night.
'We're waiting for the wind to come around. The north east doesn't really affect us, as you can see the water's driving way out, so when the wind comes back around, it's going to flood this neighborhood,' said Chris Coleman.
Their neighborhood was devastated when Hurricane Irene came through in 2011.
Many Outer Banks residents were already stranded Sunday night when Highway 12 was closed due to water and sand on the road, and the Bonner Bridge was closed due to high winds.
