NEWPORT NEWS-- A teenager has been charged in the shooting death of 13-year-old Lamonee Johnson-Chisholm.
Newport News police and U.S. Marshals from the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the 15-year-old Wednesday morning in Norfolk on charges of murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Police say Lamonee Johnson-Chisholm was shot and killed at 31st Street and Orcutt Avenue in Newport News on Nov. 18. A 15-year-old from Hampton was also shot in the arm.
Officers said Johnson-Chisholm, who lived on Roanoke Avenue in Newport News, was shot in the back.
Officials haven't said what led to the shooting, but Officer Holly McPherson confirmed that the boys knew each other.
The suspect is being held in juvenile detention.
