SMITHFIELD--Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that happened in last week.

On Thursday, Feb. 28th, police responded around 4 a.m. to a call of shots fired in the Jersey Park Apartments.

When they arrived they found a victim who said he had been shot at by 3 men. Police say they found 3 different groups of casings from 3 different caliber guns at the scene.

The victim told police that he was at a party at the apartments when a fight broke out. As the victim was leaving, three shooters started to shoot at him.

The victim jumped into his car and drove off. One of the rounds went through his back window and out his front passenger side window. Nobody was hit by the round.

There were 20 shots fired at the victim.

One of the shooters has been identified as Anthony Haywood of the 200 block of Middle Street in Smithfield.

He is wanted for Attempted Malicious Wounding, Shooting into an occupied dwelling, Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and Reckless handling of a firearm.
