VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police are looking for a couple that allegedly approached two children on their way home from school and offered them a ride.
According to Virginia Beach Police spokesman Sgt. Adam Bernstein, two juveniles were walking home from their school bus stop at the intersection of Wasserman and Daimler drives Monday around 3 p.m. when a man and woman drove up in a white SUV.
Bernstein says the woman in the passenger seat rolled down her window and asked one of the juveniles if they wanted to take a ride.
The kids ran away from the suspects, Bernstein said.
'Police are searching for the suspicious vehicle and trying to identify and learn more about its occupants,' Sgt. Adam Bernstein told WVEC.com.
One suspect is described as a while man, about 60 years old, with white hair and wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt.
The other suspect is a white, tan woman, about 40 years old, dark brown hair in pony tail and was wearing a Khaki coat and cheetah-print sunglasses.
VBPD reminds parents to talk to your children about suspicious individuals that may try to speak to them.
'If your children are approached by someone that they do not know and ask them if they would like a ride, do exactly what these two particular kids did: ignore the subjects, run away, and immediately inform a parent or a trusted adult,' Bernstein said.
