PARKSLEY--State police are investigating the death of a man found shot in the head after his car struck a house.

The incident happened Thursday around 10:45 a.m in the 27000 block of Gargatha Landing Road in Parksley.

Troopers responded to a call of a car hitting a house and when they arrived found the car and its driver dead at the wheel.

Police say they found that the man had a gunshot wound to the head. The residence was not occupied at the time of the incident.

The victim has been identified and his family members have been notified, but police have not released his name.

State police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
