4/7 UPDATE: Police identified the man found dead in the 700 block of Barrison Way as 19-year-old Keshmario Leetrell Middleton, who lived on West Hastings Arch.
The victim in the Margate Avenue shooting has been identified as 25-year-old James Earl Jones; the other victim is in the hospital in stable condition.
VIRGINIA BEACH-- Detectives made an arrest in one of two homicides that took place within seven hours of each other this weekend in Lake Edward.
Officer Patrick Cain told 13News Now someone called about the first incident Friday at 10:30 p.m. The shooting took place in the 5900 block of Margate Avenue.
Officers found two victims. One person, a male, died. Paramedics took the other person to the hospital.
'One of the guys said he was hit in the stomach, and the other, he was just rolling back and forth,' recalled Charles Taylor who was inside his home which was hit by a bullet. 'It went through the fence, went through the side of the house, came out in the kitchen cupboard, laying in the kitchen floor.'
'I was bringing my stuff in the house, and I just heard the gunshots, and it was loud. I ducked, you know, it scared me,' Amber Brumley told 13News Now. 'It's just getting worse and worse. I mean, I'm fearful for my life, really.'
Ladarius Dashae Stieff of Virginia Beach has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting. The 21-year-old is charged with second degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and use of a firearm.
Shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday, someone contacted police about another deadly shooting in the 700 block of Barrison Way.
The victim in that case also was male.
The killings come less than a week after someone found 29-year-old Cyle Strahl dead inside his house on Red Horse Lane in Lake Edward.
Investigators are searching for additional suspects in both shootings. No information about potential motives has been released.
Police have not indicated if the shootings may be connected.
