KILL DEVIL HILLS -- Law enforcement agencies will be conducting a pedestrian safety enforcement operation on NC 12 near Clark Street in Kill Devil Hills on June 30.

This operation is part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation's 'Watch for Me NC' campaign, which is working to reduce the number of motor vehicle-pedestrian crashes in the Outer Banks.

Law enforcement officers will be patrolling NC 12 for violations of pedestrian laws and will be issuing warnings and citations to drivers and pedestrians who fail to follow those laws, such as motorists not yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks or pedestrians crossing improperly.
