HAMPTON -- A two vehicle crash claimed the life of a man near Magruder Boulevard and Hampton Roads Center Parkway.
Police have charged 49-year-old Lennie Perry with DUI in Saturday's crash on Magruder Boulevard that killed a Hampton man.
Emergency dispatchers got a call about a crash with injuries around 10:42 p.m. Saturday night.
When officers got on scene they found an adult male suffering from serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the retired navy man was traveling southbound on Marguder Boulevard when his car collided with an SUV that was turning left from northbound Margruder onto Hampton Roads Center Parkway.
Police charged Perry with driving under the influence of alcohol. They say this was his third or subsequent offense driving under the influence of liquor.
A little over a week earlier Perry was arrested on another DUI offense, not far from where he had the accident. He was released from jail following that arrest on his his own recognizance. That didn't happened this time around.
