VIRGINIA BEACH-- Awoman accused of DUIin a crash that injured three children and a man in Va. Beach was arraigned Friday morning for crimes against the Lynnhaven Elementary School students.

Sandra Leigh Hofstadler was also in General District Court on the charge involving the man who was struck on Chester Street near Paladin Drive. She was appointed a public defender.

Hofstadler has a bond hearing set for Monday at 9:00 a.m., Commonwealth's Attorney spokeswoman Macie Pridgen told WVEC.com.

Two of the children are being treated at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. A family friend says the five-year-old boy is in critical condition; the third children was treated and released from Sentara. Va Beach General; the man remains hospitalized there with a broken leg, according to his family.

Police say Hofstadler passed a stopped bus that had its gate out and lights flashing around 7:40 a.m. She apparently lost control and hit the four people who were standing in a yard, MPO Jimmy Barnes said.
