NEWPORT NEWS-- Police have arrested a man they say robbed a credit union last month.

Thursday night, officers arrested Gideon Robell Kambae, 29, of the no hundred block of Davenport Ct. in Hampton, after receiving a Crimeline tip. He ws charged with one count of robbery of the Bayport Federal Credit Union located at 8000 Marshall Ave that occurred on February 13th.

Police say Kambae robbed the credit union at 5:18 p.m. by passing a note to a teller and demanding cash. According to police, though no weapon was displayed, the note indicated Kambae was armed.

Police say the clerk gave him the money and he left on foot towards a Hardees restaurant.

Kambae is in the Newport News City Jail under no bond.
